Preaching Truth. Transforming Lives. Impacting Generations.

---

For more than four decades, Superintendent Dr. Gary L. Cordon, Sr. has devoted his life to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, shepherding God’s people, developing Christian leaders, and equipping believers to demonstrate the transforming power of God’s Word in everyday life.

A pastor at heart, a teacher by calling, and a servant-leader by conviction, Dr. Cordon believes that authentic Christianity must extend beyond religious participation to produce genuine spiritual transformation. His ministry emphasizes biblical understanding, personal holiness, Spirit-empowered living, faithful stewardship, and the development of mature disciples of Jesus Christ.

Pastoral and Ecclesiastical Leadership

Dr. Cordon serves as the Senior Pastor of Victory Temple Church of God in Christ, affectionately known as The Evidence Church, one church serving two locations in Windsor and Lewiston Woodville, North Carolina.

He also serves as Superintendent of the Historic Edenton District in the Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Jurisdictional Prelate Bishop LeRoy Jackson Woolard.

His leadership reflects a deeply rooted commitment to the biblical mission of the Church: evangelizing the lost, nurturing believers, equipping ministry leaders, strengthening families, and advancing the Kingdom of God.

The mission that guides his pastoral leadership is straightforward and transformational:

“Win Souls, Keep Souls, Train Souls to Win Souls!”

This mission reflects his conviction that the Church must do more than celebrate conversions. It must intentionally develop converts into disciples who understand the Scriptures, demonstrate the character of Christ, and become effective witnesses of His saving power.

Biblical Education and Pastoral Counseling

Dr. Cordon’s educational and ministerial preparation includes doctorates in Divinity, Theology, and Pastoral Counseling, along with an honorary doctorate in Ministry.

His approach to biblical instruction combines careful scriptural examination, sound theological reasoning, practical application, and sensitivity to the challenges people encounter in everyday life.

As Dean of The Evidence Bible College, he is committed to developing accessible, doctrinally sound Christian education that equips believers, ministers, and church leaders for faithful service.

His pastoral counseling ministry emphasizes the authority of Scripture, spiritual restoration, personal responsibility, forgiveness, reconciliation where possible, and the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.

One of his enduring convictions is:

“The real victory is allowing God to heal you without becoming like those who or that which hurt you.”

Author, Communicator, and Kingdom Visionary

Dr. Cordon is the author of Are You Fasting or Just Not Eating? Rediscovering the Biblical Purpose, Power, and Practice of Fasting, a practical and scripturally grounded examination of the believer’s call to fasting, prayer, consecration, and surrender to God.

Through his writings, biblical studies, sermons, and leadership resources, he seeks to help readers move beyond merely possessing biblical information to developing the understanding necessary for faithful Christian living.

His familiar teaching principle captures this emphasis:

“When you get what you ask for, you only keep what you understand.”

He is also the founder of The Evidence Experience, a ministry initiative designed to extend biblical teaching, discipleship, spiritual development, and leadership preparation beyond the traditional church setting.

Through his podcast, Since You Put It That Way, Dr. Cordon brings biblical truth, pastoral wisdom, and thoughtful conversation to matters involving faith, family, relationships, leadership, and the challenges of contemporary Christian living.

Prayer, Spiritual Formation, and the Work of the Holy Ghost

Central to Dr. Cordon’s ministry is an unwavering confidence in the Word of God and the continuing work of the Holy Ghost.

His preaching and teaching are grounded in the authority of Scripture, the saving grace of Jesus Christ, the necessity of the new birth, and the biblical call to holy living.

Through The Evidence Prayer Network, discipleship initiatives, and ongoing biblical instruction, he encourages believers to develop lives characterized by prayer, obedience, spiritual discernment, and dependence upon God.

His faith is often summarized in a simple but powerful declaration:

“God is God and I believe God.”

He believes that spiritual maturity requires more than enthusiasm. It requires spiritual understanding, sound doctrine, disciplined obedience, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Family, Faith, and Faithful Service

Beyond his public ministry, Dr. Cordon values his calling as a husband, father, grandfather, and spiritual shepherd.

He shares his life and ministry with his wife, First Lady Dr. Chris B. Cordon, whose commitment to family, community, and Christian service has been an important part of their shared journey.

His philosophy of leadership emphasizes integrity, humility, accountability, compassion, and a life that provides credible evidence of the Gospel being proclaimed.

As he frequently reminds those he serves:

“Everybody listens to somebody—just don’t listen to everybody. Make your life credible enough to be trusted, your humility deep enough to be heard.”

The Mission Continues

Through PastorCordon.org, Dr. Cordon brings together his biblical teachings, writings, pastoral reflections, books, podcasts, educational resources, and ministry initiatives in one coordinated digital ministry network.

His vision is to make sound biblical teaching accessible, strengthen the faith of believers, encourage Christian families, equip present and future leaders, and extend the Gospel’s reach across generations and geographical boundaries.

While the methods of ministry continue to evolve, his message remains unchanged: Jesus Christ saves, the Holy Ghost empowers, the Word of God transforms, and genuine faith produces visible evidence.

His life’s work is not simply to inform people about God, but to help them know God, believe His Word, follow Jesus Christ, and fulfill His purpose for their lives.

Win Souls. Keep Souls. Train Souls to Win Souls.
